Another Birthday...

Yay 29! I just love that number, I think it suits me well. I ate chocolate cake and was cooked my favorite dinner, not bad. I also have a facial and a pedicure coming my way. Got to keep my 29 year old self looking good you know.

On a side note, Cody found a real leech in our pasture and brought it in the house and was kind enough to feed it, then let it escape in our kitchen. Yep. (Look closely in the photo, it's on his ankle).

Also, I bribed Scotty with 5 swedish fish to try on my halloween wig and pose. I think it turned out quite good.

Jacob is 9

What are the makings of a good birthday? Well, if you ask Jacob he would tell you that it would be pancakes for breakfast, AC/DC on the stereo, being read to out of the latest Harry Potter through out the day (as much as my voice could handle), the shrimp dish for dinner, and a pinata before bed. He requested the carrot cake from Gayle's, which turned out really good. He then slept with Cody up in his bunk bed and they listened to his new cd's (Harry Potter of course). What a day!

Scotty's new bag

I bought a new sewing machine yesterday and I LOVE IT. This is the first creation to be made on it. It's sad, I know, but I will be practicing and things will improve. Scotty loves it. I have a huge pile of scrap fabric so he was able to pick the colors. Now Cody wants one.

Cody is 7

Cody turned 7 in June. Someone wasn't there for his awesome beach party but I guess Hawaii is pretty cool too. He understands.

This Summer

It's been a while, but I figure you know who isn't checking anyhow. But just in case, this is our new dog who is yet to be named, she is a girl,(the boys want lolly) it's terrible and I won't do it. Our most recent camping trip in Idaho and a video of Mike breaking boards at their most recent martial arts tournament. He won first place, it was cool. Jacob and Cody are yellow belts and Mike is orange. It is called Tai Jeet Kung Po Do and it is five different martial arts mixed together and they specialize in real self defense. Any name ideas for the new dog would be appreciated, so I figure by the time you look here we might have a suggestion by next year!

Stitches Again

Cody cut himself with his carving knife and needed 3 stitches. I'm so glad he did not cut all the way through his finger. Hopefully he learned his lesson about how you should not cut towards yourself. Now all three of the boys have had stitches. Uncle Aaron says he can do stitches himself so now we have a backup! I really don't like cuts. Apparently Cody watched the whole thing. The shots going into his finger and the actual stitching. He was most excited about the red jello and grape juice the nurse gave him and his extra bandages, cream and wraps which he calls his "souvenirs." When he was asked how it happened, he told the nurse he was carving a SPEAR with his KNIFE to make a SURVIVAL FIRE. She said she thinks she will be seeing him again.
