Martinmas

Tonight we celebrated Martinmas, a holiday that is normally celebrated in a Waldorf school. Many catholics celebrate it too. We made paper lanterns out of our old watercolor paintings and went for a lantern walk outside to light up the darkness. Our lanterns turned out beautiful. When the boys were walking together the lanterns gave off a beautiful glow that was almost mystical. Very pretty. The boys enjoyed blowing "dragon breath" out in the cold night air. Then we came in and lit some candles and had apple cider and pumpkin pie. I have never celebrated Martinmas before and it was fun. I bet the Martinmas celebration in Eugene Oregon is absolutely fabulous and probably perfect. But you know, I do what I can.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I wish I knew a bunch of people so I could throw a gigantic Halloween party. I'm sure in Oregon people do this every year...

Grape Stomp and a little b-day

So today is my 28th birthday, just ignore what the cake says. Mike made me my favorite dinner and I thought I would show you how good it turned out since it looks just like the recipe picture in the book! Yum. Parmesan Chicken with citrus salad. Ina Garten knows what she's doing. We went to a winery near us and the boys were able to participate in their grape stomp. They stood in barrels of grapes and stomped them into wine, or what will become wine. Pretty fun. I didn't even have to cook breakfast today because Kel, Aaron and the crew took us out to breakfast in Eagle to a fancy upscale favorite of theirs. There's pink roses on my table and enough birthday money in my pocket to buy myself some long sought after boots. I have been longing for them for two years so I hope they are worth it. Pretty good day. In a few years when I turn 30, lets hope it goes this good...

Puppies and some bmx

So we have a mama dog and her 7 puppies which she had here at the house. Pretty cute. It is nice to finally have babies that come with a mama. It's so nice to have someone else doing the work. It's actually quite easy. Cody took three of these pictures, not bad.

Jacob and Cody went to a homeschool bmx event and it was pretty cool. Jacob and Cody even raced each other in the training wheel race before the other mock races. They loved it and they say they want to get bmx bikes and start touring. It was really fun. Way better than coach pitch or soccer, which were boring according to them and me. Mike used to race bmx when he was little and was really good at it, I think he was #1 in the state of Colorado and #50 in the nation for his age group, so he would be good at teaching the boys how to ride.

Surfing and some cake

I am showing the cake I made for Jacob's birthday since someone decided to go to Maui instead and didn't get to see it in person. I also thought I would show you that I went surfing and didn't get eaten by a shark! Such cute little waves aren't they? Jacob loved his wetsuit. I could go surfing daily from either one of my new houses, just so you know.

Stitches, again

This time it was Scotty's turn. Only two stitches, so not so bad I guess. I threw in this one of Cody because he colored his hair with a green marker and it turned out pretty cool. That's Cody and Auntie Marilyn when we went to her house and went swimming and had a bbq. I am sad to be back in the desert, but not much I can do about it right now. I miss the beach and the green forest. I guess I need two homes. One in the Santa Cruz Mountains and one in Rio De Janeiro...
