Cody cut himself with his carving knife and needed 3 stitches. I'm so glad he did not cut all the way through his finger. Hopefully he learned his lesson about how you should not cut towards yourself. Now all three of the boys have had stitches. Uncle Aaron says he can do stitches himself so now we have a backup! I really don't like cuts. Apparently Cody watched the whole thing. The shots going into his finger and the actual stitching. He was most excited about the red jello and grape juice the nurse gave him and his extra bandages, cream and wraps which he calls his "souvenirs." When he was asked how it happened, he told the nurse he was carving a SPEAR with his KNIFE to make a SURVIVAL FIRE. She said she thinks she will be seeing him again.

Jacob is looking for a new hairstyle, here are some possibilities. Opinions welcome.
Scotty turned 5 today. He now goes by "Speedy" and has been living in his Flash Gordon suit since before Halloween. The costume is wearing thin, but there are just some spots that can't be fixed. That's what happens when you live in a costume made of paper thin polyester. Library, grocery store, concert, bed, talk about getting your $5 worth from Goodwill. We are considering buying several pairs of red underwear to buy it some time.
We just returned from our road trip to Oregon. We went to Bend, Sisters, Eugene, Newport Beach, and Portland. Eugene, the place I thought I would love, is dirty and shady. Portland is nice for a big city, we rode the light rail and ate at a turn of the century "haunted" pizzeria that was beautiful. There is so much to do there, we didn't even touch on it. I wouldn't mind going back with a better plan. But we liked Bend and Sisters the best. I do not like their 55mph speed limit. It is also weird to not be able to pump your own gas. Newport Beach has nothing on Santa Cruz. I like my beaches sunny please. The rocky coastline was stunning though.
Cody did a triathlon Friday. I'm next. Jacob is now 8. I don't think the girl I'm doing this for even reads this anymore but maybe one day when her boy has moved out she'll have more time.
We lost our beloved Jenna at the beginning of this month. We went through a time of not knowing what happened to her, but received a call today and found out that she was hit by a car. She is the best dog I have ever had. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. We love you Jenna.
